At Pivotal Behavior Consulting, our Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides play-based behavioral support to children (1-12+ years),
regardless of disability status, to help them access more of the world around them. Our developmental approach to
compassionate and
ethical behavior support can target behavior reduction, academic, social-emotional, communication, and self-help goals. We aim to support children in their natural environments, integrating evidence-based practices into their daily routines and activities. If you or your child needs support at home, in school, or in the community, please get in touch with us today!
We individualize all of our services to meet the needs of children, caregivers, teachers, and other team members. We work with children that have intellectual and developmental disabilities (e.g., autism (ASD), ADHD, FAS), those that are considered "typically" developing, and children at risk
We offer a variety of behavioral, adaptive, developmental assessments (e.g., FBAs, Social Skills, Life Skills, Vineland-3) and testing for families, schools, and other agencies for eligibility, level of care, and intervention planning
We teach parents strategies to prevent and manage challenging behavior, set up the environment for success, foster social-emotional and communication skills, and scaffold other opportunities for skill development
Virtual therapy might be a good option for your school or family if you live in rural Nevada, have limited service provider options locally, or are on a tight schedule
We provide a range of services from brief consultation to ongoing and comprehensive. We develop function-based behavior support plans, visual supports, direct sessions, training plan implementors, and monitoring and reporting progress
We support professionals with coaching, small and large group training, and consultation on topics like positive behavior support, classroom management, social-emotional learning, ECE curriculum and program planning
We use behavior analytic SEL frameworks and curricula like the Pyramid Model and A.I.M. to increase psychological flexibility, combining concepts of mindfulness, ACT, and ABA to teach kids how to successfully tolerate and manage their emotions
Behavior is a powerful form of communication, especially for children. Every behavior, whether desirable or challenging, is an expression of their needs, emotions, or attempts to interact with their environment.
Challenging behaviors, such as tantrums or aggression, often emerge when a child lacks effective communication skills or struggles to cope with their emotions. Understanding that behavior serves a purpose allows us to approach behavior supports with empathy and a desire to uncover its underlying meaning. By identifying the function of a behavior, we can develop effective strategies to replace it with a desired or more appropriate behavior that achieves the same goal.
We currently accept Nevada Medicaid and private pay. Please contact us to schedule a brief consultation where we will discuss your individual goals and needs and see if we would be a good fit!
If your child has a documented ASD diagnosis, a superbill can be provided for ABA services. Superbills are detailed invoices that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
Thank you for contacting me. I will be accepting clients soon and I will get back to you as soon as possible!
