Bio

Nina McCartney, M.S., BCBA (LBA), a dedicated and accomplished professional in the field of education, is a PhD candidate at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), specializing in early childhood special education and ABA. With her master's in HDFS, Nina has a substantial understanding of human development across the lifespan and the importance of family systems, which provides the foundation for her holistic approach to behavior support.


Nina has over 18 years of experience working with children, showcasing her commitment to improving the lives of young learners and their families. She has provided behavior services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) through the local regional center, clinical supports as a registered behavior technician (RBT), and spent many years teaching preschool, giving her vast knowledge of these settings, among others.


Not limited to direct experiences, Nina has also made significant contributions to the academic community. She spent five years teaching undergraduate courses in HDFS, mentoring future educators and other pre-professionals in their ECE field experiences. She has also collaborated on many research projects, publishing research in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at conferences.
